- Q. Can I sue for investigation discrepancies in son's murder case?
- A: I'm sorry for your loss. I am sure it is a painful experience. With that said your partial description of facts is insufficient to form a basis for defamation, emotional distress or "misconduct". I was unable to read any online news items regarding your son's death. Until I have reviewed the autopsy report and the police investigation file I would have no opinion concerning any potential causes of action. Sorry, but I am not sure I can help you.
- Q. Car trade dispute: ownership, accident, police involvement - advice needed.
- A: Did either you or the driver have the car insured? What is your friend saying about the sale?
- Q. Can I pursue legal action for unexpected job termination after accident and positive performance reviews in Iowa?
- A: No. At best you are an at-will employee and can be terminated for almost any reason. But, the facts you described do not even make you an at-will employee. You are an independent contractor, which means you do not work for the company who was paying you. You contracted like any other vendor. You are like the plumber you call to fix your toilet. You can be fired as quickly as you were hired.
This says nothing about the motorcycle accident. You may have a good case for damages.
